Beaujolais Nouveau Celebrations

Knowledgeable wine lovers are familiar with the third Thursday of every November. That is the date when fruity, red Nouveau Beaujolais makes it’s annual appearance, which is short-live and celebrated by area French restaurants. Nouveau Beaujolais is unlike most other wines as it goes from harvest to bottle in just about two months. It does not age well so it is meant to be consumed right away. Join in the November 19th celebration at these annually held release parties:
Aixois, 301 E. 55th Street in Brookside, is featuring Beaujolais Noveau in both their small plates and main dishes. Georges Duboeuf’s Noveau wine by the glass will be $7. Specials run from November 19-21st. 816-333-3305
Cafe des Amis in Parkville, will offer a special three-course prix fixe including a glass of Noveau for $39. 816-587-676
Le Fou Frog, 440 E. Fifth in the River Market area, is featuring Happy Hour and dinner specials on November 19th. Sausage and cheese will also be served and the celebration includes Georges Duboeuf’s Noveau for $7.50 per glass. 816-474-6060
