August 3, bluestem Cocktail Dinner Chefs Colby & Megan Garrelts and bluestem’s Van Zarr will create a 5-course menu with cocktail pairings featuring cool summer flavors. Celebrate the season with this innovative dinner at bluestem. Begin in the Lounge at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. This special summer soiree is $100 per person. August 8, Cafe des Amis Wine Dinner Tom O’Connor of Bomarito Wines will be partnering with Cafe des Amis to bring you a fine five course French dinner paired with five fine French wines. The dinner is $67 per person and reservations are required. Call Cafe des Amis at 816-587-6767 to save your place.
August 28, foodNow featuring the blue bird bistro Local Farmers and local chefs are coming together to raise awareness for local healthier eating with The first foodNow. The blue bird bistro is excited to be a part of this event that benefits the Kansas City Community Gardens, Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture and the Greater Kansas City Food Coalition. There will be Drinks on the Roof at 1300 West 13th where guests will share small bites, wine, a beautiful view and a silent auction until sundown. Diners will then be ushered down to Dinner in the Street with favorite local chefs preparing all local cuisine. This inaugural event is $125 per person.
